So I'm wondering if I could put some plants in a room and just from sunlight would my plats produce just as good as with the lights

They would need direct sunlight for 12+ hours per day to do as well or better than under the lamps.

No. In fact, you will find it quite difficult to try and grow a plant indoors by sunlight alone.

buy a grow tent that has a built in light check them out on ebay they are not that expensive.
