I put my young seedling plants on a table next to windows so they can get natural sunlight during the day...then I move them into a closet with grow lights at night. My question is this. Are they still getting adequate light on a cloudy or overcast day?

what kind of grow lights? probably better to just leave them under the lights if you have something strong enough...BtL

IMO, No. I agree with blowin. They actually are probably not getting adequate light through the window even on sunny days. Window glass can cut a lot of the light and then there is the fact that windows do not get light all day. One of the advantages of being outdoors over being indoors is having the sun travel from east to west and have the plant continually bathed in light from all angles. You do not get that indoors.
