The International Interior Design Association has awarded a prestigious award on the San Francisco Patient and Resource Center -- a marijuana dispensary -- for its clean, well-lighted place.

SPARC has won the 19th Annual Will Ching Design Competition, according to curbed.com.

With minimalist oak tables and benches, the owner, Eric Pearson, told Curbed that he wanted to "remove the stigma around cannabis and make people feel marijuana is normal."

The dispensary showcases vaguely bong-shaped lights, steel shelves holding the medicine, and a sales counter "made of local oak, with inset glass-topped drawers exhibiting buds, salves and edibles like snickerdoodle cookies and 'cosmic caramels,'" according to Curbed's report called The Moment.

Finally, what may hav e put SPARC over the top for the award, is the "cascading grid of steel and glass patterened loosely on marijuana's DNA and peppered with clear aquamarine panes."
