Another large-scale marijuana growing operation near Prince George has been dismantled by police.
The Cariboo Region Integrated Marijuana Enforcement task force executed a search warrant on a house in the 20000-block of Highway 97 south the city at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
In all, 1709 marijuana plants were seized from the residence, which had been converted for the sole purpose of producing marijuana. Every room in the residence was dedicated to maximize yield of the illegal substance. The house was riddled with ducting, wiring, hoses, chemicals and mould, making it impossible to live in.
Police also seized a stolen BC Hydro meter that was being utilized in an attempt to avoid the detection of the copious amounts of stolen electricity.
The Prince George SPCA was contacted in order to investigate a neglected and possibly mistreated dog police believe was left by the owner and found chained to the residence.
