i'm a noobie to the world of hydro, maybe its just smoking ALOT tonight, but i got wondering. my question has to do with the medium...in my planters, the bottom is gravel, then a 3 inch thick rockwool, then gravel on top. should i have rockwool the whole way down in one piece? broken up pieces? or the way i have it? i'm just worried about the roots, like if their strong enough to push into the gravel or what? they're looking amazing after only 1 week in. oh, and their clones if that matters. an in-depth answer is sooooo much appreciated. the gravel is pee gravel. thanx.

I've read that pea gravel makes a great hydro medium, so I assume the roots will grow fine.

The gravel on the top is just to stop light from getting to the rockwool, right? I assume you transfer clones from rockwool slabs into the larger pea gravel tray for veg/flower?

Sorry, no 'in-depth' answer here. It sounds like a working system. ;) :stoned:
