I'm moving into a new apartment soon and was wondering if anyone thinks I might have a problem running 1 400watt hps/mh light and an 80 watt duct fan of the same outlet?

You wont have a problem with the power....

But make sure you dont have any random inspections...BEFORE you start growing...

It's according to what else is on that circuit breaker that feeds the outlet. Alot of the CB's in apt are close to being max'ed out and will trip when to much of a load is added

Ozzy is correct--it all depends on what else is on the circuit.

depends on the age older apt complexes yes. under the new IRC and ICB codes...they are pretty good staying well under the limit...due to the amounts of power that we consume IE electronics that they didn't factor in way back when.
