My plants seem to be growing tall. Im in the 3rd week of flowering and I've raised the height of the lights already. Im a newbie on growing so any help is appreciated. Should i just let them do there thing? I heard not to prune them at this stage cuz is risky for a beginner. LST is another thing i heard to do. Which im leaning towards. The grow box is 20" x 24" x 48" growing 3 plants in a Tupperware container. Using general hydroponics grow, flora, and micro along with calMag smd moab bud enhance. I have 2 smal LED lights (1 square, 1 round) budget lights. Any other info plz ask.

this is what I do in my small growing space... build a scrog net from whatever you like and use it to control the canopy of your grow...just tuck things down during the stretch that follows light switching..at some point though you just gotta let’m bloom...our grow areas are just about the same size...I’ve got 4ft of height or maybe 55 inches...so ya gotta control’m...I keep my lights about a foot above most of the canopy...

Welcome! I've been in your spot! I hope that you enjoy your journey with cultivating your favorites! How many nodes do each plants show. Its recommended to top right around 5 nodes...
Now your growing in a box with LED lighting, its still going to get hot, I know mine did! Do you have venting and circulation in your box? You can create a great little environment in that small space!;)

Yes, i have 2 computer fans. 1 for intaking fresh air to the plants, the other for exhaust. And i have it vented thru a duct into the attic. As far as the nodes...i see them coming out alot if im sure that's what they are. Maybe like 3-5 per large stem per plant. 5 on the large one, 3 or so on the other 2.

He's already 3 weeks into flower so topping is not a good idea at this point. A need for more light is probably why they're stretching.
But I've got 2 full spectrum led lights. 1 round and 1 square. Maybe they're not enough wattage? Thinking of doing LST.

Hey Frank! Welcome to MP! There is a ton of information available here. There are also some very helpful people here to help when something doesn't make sense or you need a work around. There's lots of product knowledge here too.
What wattage are those lights? How high are you hanging them above your canopy? I try to keep mine under 12". LED lights are different than the HID lighting and can be closer to the plants. On a young plant you may see light stress but I'd be willing to bet most mature plants can handle living within inches of the light source.
Are you keeping track of the temperature in there? High heat can cause stretch as well.
Also, I've had plants in the past stretch into the 3rd week. But everyone is right, you're gonna need more lighting once you get comfortable growing. You may want to upgrade the ventilation system. Maybe add some more out fans or one larger fan capable of exchanging the air at a faster rate. I'm assuming you're using case fans and I just don't think the cfm adds up. Those girls need a fresh air exchange, not just heat removal.
Congratulations on getting your grow going!

Thanks for your help. I do think i need a bigger fan. Lighting i think is good though. Thank you for your response.

Here's a update on the growth and progress of my 3 plant grow.

Hey Frank ! I wouldn’t think that your flowering plants should be stretching to where you have to raise your lights ! What wattage are your LED’s and how far away from the tops of your plants ? Never prune flowering plants ! Good luck and keep us informed!

Don't know what wattage they are. I got them on Offerup along with the grow box. Only difference is, I made a bigger cabinet (21"x24"x48") and transferred the fans and lights. Lights are about 4-5" from the top of the box and about 6-8" away from the canopy. I also bought an expensive humidity/temperature display that's reading now at about 52-55% humidity. But i have to use an oscillating fan and keep the cabinet door open to keep that percentage down. Any other info needed? Im a newbie

Starting to look good buddy.

Plants naturally stretch during flower.

There is nothing wrong with trimming foliage and even sucker shoots during flower either, as long as you are not taking to much growth at once.

Lots of people trim off the shade leaves as the plants start to yellow late into bloom so the light hits the lower growth more.

Even going so far as to trim all of the bigger colas off and leave the lower portion of the plant to let it fatten up.

Commercial hemp farms are a fine example.

No name leds can be good or poor quality... the proof will be in the dry harvest.

There are several cheap yet quality leds out there if you wish to upgrade in the future, with several threads on leds here on the forum.

The key to preventing stretching other than having plenty of lumens is proper training.

I supercrop everything from the start to keep my plants as short as possible to help try to keep an even canopy.

Sometimes plants will take off anyway and foxtail out- stacking buds to the ceiling so I might get a few really tall phenos in a run that tower over everything else no matter what.

Nothing wrong with it, but seed runs can be a shot in the dark anyway.

Keep us posted buddy and keep um’ green!

I do see one thing though...i believe i have a pest or bug or something. Or is this hints of nutrient burn. I don't think it's burn. And it's an inside grow, in a closet, inside the house. Everything is regulated so i don't see how i could have a bug/pest. Very clean house too. Temp and humidity on point. It's not everywhere just in those 2 spots. Its not really worrying me too much; more like curiosity if you will. Lol. Give me your thoughts. Thanks
