I have two plants (out of 5) that i think are developing pre flowers. I would like a little help to determine if i am looking at this correctly, and if they are pre flowers, whether they are male or female. The plants are in a 3 sq ft area under 4 - 27w 6500k cfls and 3 - 27w 2700k cfls.

I think that plant 3 (first pic) is showing female pre flowers and plant 2 (pics 2 & 3) unfortunately looks like it is showing male pre flowers. But please, someone with a more experienced eye take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Also, it seems that the leaves on a few of my plants look as if someone folded them vertically exactly down the center (pics 4 & 5). Has anyone seem this before?

i can't totally tell from those pics but it really isn't looking too good. I think I am seeing male pre-flowers in a few pics, but I didn't see any females yet. Remember that the males usually show themselves first.

im with massproducer, the first pics you can see something but its hard to tell if its male or female. i would wait another week just to be safe.. good luck

Well, i thought that it may have been a female preflower because the pod coming from the node in the first pic seems to not be "raised' like the pods in pics 2 and 3. I'll keep an eye on them and see what happens in about a week or so. I'm actually starting to think they are males anyway, because these 2 are the biggest plants of all 5 and like massproducer said....males move a lot faster than females. Thanks for the advice

Two things I'm seeing here.
First, did you top that plant just before flowering? Big stem below, fresh (unhealthy) shoots above.
Let's talk about this. Once the main stem is fat enough to have a distinct spongy or nearly hollow center, its a gamble to cut. You can introduce bacteria, or allow them a place to take hold and get into the plant's tissues very easily. If you want to do serious height control, start young.
Also topping right before flower is shooting yourself in the foot. Give at least 2 weeks for recovery before switching the lights. You've broken apical dominance, so you need to let the side shoots decide amongst themselves who's gonna be running the hormone show, and they need to figure it out before flowering. Otherwise, yield will suffer.
The brown 'waists' on the new leaves could mean bacteria in the cut tip, or root rot. Keep an eye on it and don't overwater.

Looks like an underfed male. Stinkyattic has some great points as well as umbra. Next time let us help earlier.

@Jray - you should not hijack (and pollute with multiple copies of the same pics) other people’s threads. The OP was looking for help and input. You have your own posts. Your questions, pics and statements belong there.
@solarz - it is hard to tell from your pics. I agree with massproducer and slomo77 that you should wait a bit. What I see does look like it is a male though...

Oh jeez I didn't even notice it was a hijack, sorry Solarz!!! Yeah jray you should delete your questions/pics off this thread and append them to one of the many you've already started! Maybe a mod could help you split them off if you ask; not sure what the moderation interface is like on this particular forum engine.

Oops... I missed the date...

Sorry I’m still trying to learn this all
