Pruning/defoliation HELP!

So my plants are very bushy and im seeing its because my main thick branches have small branches on it and those small branches have a lot of leaves. Do i remove these small branches? This is week 1 of flower and i know i shouldve done this whole pruning/defoliation last week.

That was my mistake with my first grow. I am only on my second and still learning. There are videos about lollipopping. Also trying to do low stress training. I did it week 4, I have autos they start budding around week 4. You have to learn about the strain too. Some are taller than others. I hope things worked out.
