we had them all over in Oklahoma…beautiful trees

and the fragrance from the smoke is so good that we would open the door to the wood stove and close the damper real quick and let some smoke into the house

check out the crape myrtles too

We have them everywhere in my local as well.
I have them in, and around the edge of my yard.
They have started blooming in the past week or so.
 
They are here as well.

When the seed pods fell from my neighbor's tree last fall, I gathered a bunch. I soaked some of them in hot water for 24 hours then cold stratified them per online instruction.

I have two in the grow room that I put in soil earlier this week. I'm really hoping they sprout.

Beautiful trees they are, and I'd love to have some in my yard this year!
 
I got two seedlings planted. Gonna be a while before I get to enjoy the color.
 
When they start to bloom. It's Morel hunting season... it is here in Ok that is...

The jelly made from the flowers sells for $40 bucks a pint. Also seen a 4' tree at the local garden center going for $299.oo.
