Hi guys

About a week ago I was given 7 clones from a friend. Since then they''ve all stood in a jug(transparent plastic) of water(24/7-lights), containing minute amounts of nutes. I think I'm starting to see something that might resemble roots. Though just on a few of the cuttings, I am relieved to see some progress.

I remember during my first grow log, I had my plants in transparent plastic pots, someone told me to cover that up so the rooting system wouldn't be exposed to light. Well, that just struck me as I was, just the other minute, admiring my little green babies.
Q:Should I protect the(not yet exisiting)roots from exposure to light right from the beginning?

Phew, English, second language...Stoned beyond belief...C ya all later, hopefully with some pics=)

All the best

I believe, roots dont like being exposed to light.
And your water being exposed to light causes algae to grow
and bloom which can mess up your PH, which can kill your plants.

So I would cut a whole in a cardboard box or something and put
our seedlings through, while covering the water jug.

goodluck

Thanks, that seems logical.

Where are the Vulcans when you need them?....(other than this forum I mean^^)

Anyone know what the optimal pH value for my rooting water should be.
I think tap water here is around 7,5; maybe a point or so over.
