so....how does your molasses smell?

Gotta say ..my mixture right now (1tbs / 1 gal. of water) smells soooo soo rancid after a few days. Been watering with it for the past 3 weeks, and it's my first time using it so i'm not sure if it's supposed to smell like poo. Right now i'm flushing so my mix is just water and molasses.

Should I be bubbling my mix? How's your molasses smelling these days?

If it smells bad, toss it. Molasses shouldn't stink.

Not a good idea to let it sit either. Mix it up and use it.

Bubbling just molasses and water? I guess you could, but don't see why. I'll bubble it when making a tea or the like and there is other stuff in there, but not just molasses and water.

Use your nose with organics like that. It should smell, but not nasty. Like horse poo vs an open septic tank.

I use mine immediately...if not I will aerate. it don't like to sit.

yeah I'll bubble it lightly just to keep it moving. notice it won't turn as quick if the water is moving.

Thanks, I may give that a try because 1 gal. lasts me about 5-6 days
