Can someone explain to me how these "fast finishing" strains work? Seem to be getting more popular on the seedbank sites. I got one as a freebie and it was ready in 48 days. It's nice smoke and it yielded better than an auto. I know they're photo-periods, but how do they accelerate them and what does that do to the genetics?

Its cool key. Ive been told that they are just different selected phenotypes. Which i think is still wishful thinking, especially if it isnt a clone. Seeds can and do vary in phenotype expression.
