Hi guys this may be a stupid question but bare with me lol At the local hardware store they have 4ft double strip t5 lights they come with 28w bulbs my question is can I put 56w bulbs in the fixture I couldnt find that info out hopefully some here can help me out thanks guys:icon_smile:

No, the 56w require a 56w ballast. The 28w ballast will either overload or not light up the higher watt bulbs.

Just like HID's, the ballasts are matched with the bulbs.

Would be nice if it worked though, eh?

Yep, yep. The lower watt ballast wouldn't light the high output bulbs. Ya gotta have the T5HO ballast. :)
