Urgent Help Needed

I am a complete idiot. I was moving the location of my plant and the stem somehow broke at the soil level. I need any advice on how I may possibly be able to save my poor Marry. I am currently trying to use the cloneing approach. I have spliced the stem, dipped it in root growth formula and replanted it. I am not sure if this will work because it's the main stem and not a branch. Any oppinions/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

well.... this advise is a little late for this plant but next time make a splint and attach it to the plant and support it it will heal if properly cared for try it next time.
