yep---fine job MarP---your av is bad azz---BPOTM is also another nice feature imo s/b kept---i also like the contrast of white background and the green better---makes it easy on the eyes---toa may have a viable option for us to fund this site by donating starter beans from pollen chucking members to members as you earn funding by brokering the transactions---grow journals are a great way for the would be purchasers to see what their getting before they part with their dough---it would take the cut throat wind out of the sails of many arrogant breeders---the site would be completely member supported---just a thought---good to see you---and happy halloween :icon_smile:

Great replies and thread I am ok with dropping whatever header that screams MJ at you though. If I could change anything, it would be like a diff backdrop and move around the BPOTM in the center or something to showcase it. A black, backdrop and bright BPOTM in the header would be kool.

i believe the BPOTM was previously aligned "right". the size seems off too.

the size is how melvan displayed it in resizing is why it looks this way. (bpotm)

there are member ran sites, with an admin and mods of course, ran by member donations that are by invite only. vb cost approx. 3000 a month. to operate with full functionality. it does work if you specify 'donations'...you don't have to lose control marp/hick. i think that is the hold up here. the site still has all rules in place, and you will need to go private by invite to maintain membership. that is some serious change right there. it wouldn't be hard to get 60 members to donate 50 bones a month. (i spend that idling at tree lights in my charger at track in one night. hemi engine goes vroom vroom) mom spends that on two sixers in a good night. high plains hunters spend that on a box of brass. you get my drift...

i don't think you want this sorta change, but would be nice to have some features here again. and even if it isn't possible, i still want to help you with a donation for the space you give to me to show my skill. i owe you marp. i been creating here close to six years free of charge...you find a way, my funds are on the first thing smoking my brother... i got the passion...

For me, it's worth it. There are some people who don't pay and I know they've really missed out. Their loss.

Yeah, I'm on another forum that I was a VIP member of for about 6 years.. now I'm a mod, so I'm not paying, but I do donate here and there, granted I "work" for the forum for free, I still appreciate it and donate.

it may cost that much to run a forum with 50k+ members. but we are a much much smaller forum. we have what like 100 daily active members? even your most basic hosting package can handle this forum.

$10 a year for a domain name
$10 a month for hosting
$160 to purchase vBulletin for life

before i found this forum. i was seriously considering starting one of my own, exactly like this one. a small community of extremely passionate people all sharing their love for mj. i still have the pseudo code still stored in my google drive. i found this forum when thinking of names for my forum. saw this place. checked it out. LOVED IT. and i'm here to stay
