whats is wrong

the leaves on some of my hydro plants are turning light green and becoming brittle. the bottom leaves were affected first but now some mid level leaves have patches of light green and brittle spots?

pictures would help greatly, but it sounds like fert problem too much or not enuff..

if the edges are crumbling off, it`s probably over-fert.

I'm not a Hydro man myself but i would agree with Shuggy. If they are dry and brittle it's the nutes or heat.

I think i had red algae growing becaus when i woke up tis morning the roots were covered in red slime and ther was a thin layer of it ontop the water so i quikly washed it off the roots and cleaned the tub and so far no more signs of it . has anyone else heard of this happening?

i`m a soil grower man, so i`m not too sure,but root-rot comes to mind,although i could be way off.
