when to stop budding

if you are looking for optimum yeild and not optimum potency can you keep growing the buds after the pistols and the trichromes are amber will i get a greater yeild or what will happen. also what if i picked all the buds off will it grow more? thanks to all who answer

Usually the later you let them go the heavier or more "couchlock" the buzz will be, it is an annual plant and past a point I believe it will be done flowering and start to die off. You can pick the buds and keep it alive but you will need to switch back to veg for a while and regenerate the plant, it won't just keep producing buds.

Also if you let them go for too long the thc trichomes degrade and you lose potency.

Gererally, plants achieve maximum yield (size) before they become fully ripe so you don't lose yield by waiting until they're perfect for harvesting.
