If 85% is ''cheap junk'' then yeah, i am. I doubt ppm makes much difference anyways.

sorry, but ppm makes a huge difference. I'm just emphasizing
that bad water will make a huge diference on Ph fluctuations. I see it with my fish tanks, Hydroponics and dirt.
when i first moved here, i couldn't figure out why i was having so many problems with ph, I would lower it, the next day it was back up to ph8.
leaves were always curled under, plants were pale.
I started using a better quality Ph-down and things started getting better.
then finaly i bought a 100gpd RO filter, and all my problems went away.
the filter brings 160-180ppm down to 5ppm,
I no longer test for ph, because nothing ever changes.

give us a rundown on this RO thingy. and water does change. with GH last year was straight feed, now i have to add 25 - 40ml to get to 6.0 and close to 100ml when straight water. thxs canso
