Last night during chat, my hubby tossed a soccer ball to me and it knocked over my full glass of water. :( My laptop worked fine after I dried it off with paper towels. Then about 20 minutes later it went kaput! My hubby used his air compressor on it but it's still not working.

 Soccer balls, water and laptops don't mix. Never try this at home.

I'm grateful to have this big ol monster of a backup, but it's not as convinient as my other one at the kitchen table. :( So I may not be around as much.

Hey, sometimes...the power supply fuse blew. Let dry completely. then check the fuse. (laptops are a PITA to take apart tho. its worth a shot.

Thanks. Fingers crossed. :) Is that expensive to fix?

hey Mom....my hubby is a PC specialist....try to let it dry out for at least 3 days...just put it aside and let it sit a bit

*fingers crossed* i hope it turns out ok

if you tried to switch it on soon after the incident it may be totally buggered.

Remove the battery if you have not already done so and this will limit any further electrical shorting. I have placed electronic items in a gas oven with a pilot light on and this really dried te item out well in a few days. Good luck Smokinmom

Well it's time to bury my old laptop. It was never able to be revived. According to HP, they think it's the motherboard and that it would cost $200+ to fix.

It was only $650 to begin with.

So my hubby decided to surprise me and sell some of his old stock from a job 10 yrs ago, and surprise me with a new laptop. Can't wait til I get it.

:D
