Hi, What is the idea temperature for growing?
My basement is 68 degrees for most of the year, even in the summer time.
The temp. outside is 86(30C) and the basement is still 70 degrees.
Even with a 400W the temp may rise 2 degrees.
Should I heat the room while light is on and then turn it off during the dark cycle.
The positive side is I do not have any bugs.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Peacock...

Well you can strut your feathers as your post is the envy of many growers! Your temps are great. Lower to mid 70's is IDEAL for trichome development. I grew for years in places that were too hot and it wasn't until I got a handle on and kept temps in the 70's before I had dank results. If you want a bit more heat you could go with a 600w hps but things sound about perfect now... Night temps are good to dip a bit but you don't want them to go down too much as moisture will condense on your plants and could create mold or fungus issues.

If you 'search' the forum for 'flower temps' and check around the stickies on the main page you'll find lots of info on temps and environmental issues.

Happy Growing!
