i have three mary jane plants in a small area that are almost a month old. I am about to start flowering them. I was thinking about trying the LST method starting now... is it too late to start it?

im trying a hydro grow for the first time, and my plants are getting crowded now that they are a little over a month old. I think that i read somewhere that its ok to cut off some of the lower fan leaves in order to make room for the "buds" and other growth. Will this hurt my grow at all?
