A few dumb questions on lighting 8)

I was wondering what the dealeo was with CFLs and fixtures. I see that a 23w bulb is a 100watt equiv. bulb. What fixture would this bulb work in? I plan on grabbin some of those painting fixtures but im not sure what wattage to get. For example, say a fixture is made for 150 watts. Does that mean its backward compatible to lower wattages? Like it can take 100w 50w? etc? or will it jus blow out the bolb immediately?

yes its compatible with lower watts. you cant put a higher watt bulb in a lower watt fixture .

if you only have sprouts right now then use a flouresent.
