So I caught a rerun of King of the Hill where bobby starts growing roses with black lights supposed to be mocking us herbal farmers

I was just curious if anyone knows the origin of the myth of growing with black lights?

Black lights produce UV or ultraviolet light (wavelengths below 380 nanometers)
so would not provide energy for photosynthesis which uses visible light (about
400 to 700 nanometers). If you did an experiment with plants grown with black
light alone and other plants grown with regular light plus black light, you
would expect plants grown with black light alone to die.

Many researchers are examining UV light effects on plants because the
destruction of the ozone layer is causing UV levels to rise and potentially
cause damage to plants. Plant damage is likely with UVB (280 - 320 nm) and UVC
(200 - 280 nm) light. UVA (320 - 380 nm) generally does not cause damage. Most
plant research on UV damage is done with UVB. this in the onlything i could find on black lights growing plants

its simple more lights more grow but the best one is sun black lights are for partys only have fun on your grow
