For those who missed the memo last week, July 29 was apparently Eat Marijuana While Getting Arrested Day.

Two men - one in North Carolina and one in Arizona - were arrested on Thursday for pot possession and both tried to eat the evidence.

The only difference? The guy in Arizona happened to be former NBA player Samaki Walker, who was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the No. 9 pick in the 1996 NBA Draft (before Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash).

According to WTOV9.com: "After being pulled over in his 2002 Mercedes-Benz during a routine traffic stop in Kingman (Ariz.), Walker attempted to eat eight grams of marijuana before he was arrested. Officials seized a total of approximately 10 grams of marijuana, in addition to some prescription drugs and eight bottles of liquid steroids. "

Apparently, the 35-year-old Walker still plays in Syria where liquid steroids are legal. Alas, they are illegal in Arizona - and so is marijuana.

And so is eating said drugs. All Walker had to do was look at a discussion thread on marijuana.com to know that chomping down weed during an arrest is also called tampering with evidence.

Walker averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 10 NBA seasons. In addition to Dallas, he also played for the Lakers, Wizards, Heat and Pacers.
