how to vent my 400w?

You have to evacuate the heat from the closet itself somehow.
Is there any way you can drill holes for ventilation ducting? It'd be an easier repair job for the closet later.
With flexible ducting, and a couple computer fans, it probably wouldn't be noisy either.

a couple computer fans will not be enough to vent your 400W HPS efficiently

I also saw a cool squirrel cage type fan at HD with three speed settings. totally portable, had a nascar logo on it.
was like 80 bucks. 300-400 cfm??? that will provide you with the ventilation you need

Vent the light seperatly from your cab(use a vented hood)this is half the battle.
I also agree that being creative is great way to go and an excelent learning curve.
