I thought I would start a thread featuring Redneck Engineering.
Projects around the house, auto/truck fixes, outdoor related - you name it - redneck engineering is sometimes the best way.
I figured with the wealth of knowledge, imagination, and paranoia among the members of this site,
There should be plenty of examples of redneck engineering projects.
I'll start it off
with a toilet.
About a month ago, that flimsy plastic toilet handle broke off at the arm while flushing the toilet - I think the chain must have been tangled.
Nevertheless - another little fix-it project.
For a short term fix - I pondered a bit of Redneck Engineering:
1 - New Shoelace
2 Tied a Loop in one end (a.k.a pull handle)
3 Run shoelace through hole where handle existed
4 Attach tag end of shoelace - via knot - to flapper - point where chain was attached.
5 Flush and be happy.
I had company yesterday and each person commented about it.
Both genders thought it was cool.
So, the Redneck Toilet Handle is staying. (and it ain't made from cheap Chinese plastic).
