my low ryders are past their harvest time period.

my gut and my eyes are telling me its time for the girls to be harvested.

BUT...

Viewing the Tricomes, they are still mostly cloudy
and clear with specs of amber (not much).
trying to be discipline and patient ive been holding out harvesting.

which leadds me to this question.

HOW DO YOU KNOW, OR WHEN IS IT TOO LATE??
And miss your harvest window, and want to choke yourself??:hairpull:

are their tell tale signs of " OOPS I gone and F'ed UP" on the plants?

:holysheep:

I read somewhere that black trichromes mean you went past harvest. I would wait for the pro's to tell ya for sure though.

black tricomes??

as long as i been waiting for the ambers, it might be 2008 by the time
black trichs show up..

So regardless if the fan leaves all fallen off, and the leaf on the buds
yellowing, as long as trichs aren't amber, still not ready.. ???

I got 2 Lowryder 2's, thats in question. If I harvested one of t hem, which
should I harvest?? The one with more amber or less amber??
Might as well harvest 1 and do the wait and see with the other.

Aren't the trichs supposed to be cloudy? The hairs turn amber after a while I know.

Actualy the Trich start out flat then grow trunks then a head.
My wife think its funny, because some looks like a penis..

they start out clear, then turn cloudy, then amber and black.

But waiting on the Trichs while the plants do its thing really tests
your patients..

I always waited untill it was in thirds,
1/3 clear
1/3 cloud
1/3 Amber
But I am told that different times for different kinds, personally I would ask
BombBudPuffa, or Stoney_Bud, or one of the cool Mods that we got here. I read all sorts of combo's, and I'm not up to date on all the different goods that are growing nowadays.
I hope someone smarter will give you the answer your looking for, and I will hang around to read it. OL'Dogs can be taught, and I love to learn.

i wouldn't wait for the majority of the tricks to get brown or youll lose potency

depends on which sort of high your trying to achieve, for instance if your looking for an energetic-"up" high then an early harvested indica is what to shoot for. the longer the trich`s are reaching there maximum potency level-the couch-lock effect will be more prominent, shown by the majority amber trich`s.
i`ve never heard of the black trichomes before although i have a plant with purple/red ones, must be strain dependant.
it`s down to your own preference and only experience can allow you to get it down every grow.
