I have a question or two on my setup. I have 2 spaces about 6 sq. ft. each. Each space has 1-400W. One is a standard HPS, the other is an MH/HPS conversion (swap HPS/MH bulbs).

My question is, Would I be better off in production/energy usage going with veg/flower spaces or just veg enough plants for both sides under MH then move half the plants to other space and flowering all plants at once?

Im trying to figure out if doing this would be a better option than a perpetual setup. Plus I'd like some down time during the year to travel etc.

Here's The Math

Based On .15 Per Kilowatt Hour/400W Light(s)

18hrs - 400Watt - .15pkw = $32.40 p/m 0r $8.10 p/w

12hrs - 400Watt - .15pkh = $21.60 p/m Or $5.40 p/w

24hrs - 400Watt - .15pkh = $43.20 p/m Or $10.80 p/w

Cost Per Standard 3 Week Veg/9 Week Flower

Veg - 3 Weeks = $24.30
Flower - 9 Weeks = $48.60 Per Side Or $97.20 Using 2 Sides To Flower
$72.90 Total One Sided Grow Or $121.50 Total Using 2 Sides To Flower

If Doing Perpetual Grow

$32.40 p/m Ongoing
$21.60 p/m Ongoing
$54 Total p/m Ongoing

depends what u want, a big harvest to last and wait a while or a smaller harvest but another one coming sooner.. u obviously have alot of watt's running so it's going to be expensive w/ two 400s

I guess they key part is...Having time when Im not worring about plants. Perpetual growing is perpetual work. If I can do 2 grows (each side) @ once...Thats double what I would get in the same time as a PG.

In 9 months I could do 6 grows (each in a 6 ft area). Im thinking that should leave me with a few months to play with plant worry free.

It seems like using both spaces for budding is less work/produces more in less time. Someone let me know if Im wrong. Besides, Im only growing for my wife and myself.

Anyway, I found a link that helped give me an idea of what CAN be produced with my specs. If someone with some experience could take a look at the yield calculator to check its accuracy, I'd appreciate it.

There's alot of good info on this site BTW. Nice programs to play with.
