I have what i think to be an algae problem (brown and greenish gunk) on the roots and all over the res. Is it algae? and also what does the brown spotting mean? I have good ph, i did find a piece of rusting metal in the bottom of the res, rust poisoning? or mabey just the algae problem?

is it possible to switch from DWC to soil? I just started to veg the plants and im haveing too much trouble with what i think to be algae growth on the roots. I was just wondering if I could just spray the algae off the roots and carefully transplant into 5gal. containers with pro-mix? suggestions?
