Hi All,

Im currently living in the uk, and totally pissed off with buying inferior goods at high costs,

Time for a change.

Could anyone pls help me with some idea's for a basic growroom, hydro setup and general beginer tips,

Got the space, and the time. Ive read thro alot of the post for setting up and are just boggling myself with what to start with, Also ive been given 8 cuttings from a nice strain and want to go with those, can i just put them straight into a hydro system??

any advice would be great,

sorry to sound like a idiot, but trust my mind is keen and Im ready to learn.

cheers flowers.

Im a newbie too and since nobody wants to aswer your question I will help anyway I can. Its frustrating to be new and nobody wants to ecknowledge your exsistance here. Anyways welcome!

How much room do you have for setup?

Okay. People here will be happy to give advise. I've had great success w/ this sight generally. As far as your grow room is concerned I think we need some specifics. Do you have a light? What kind of budget do you have? How much space do you want to dedicate to the project? Do you want to produce your own clones and develope a perpetual garden where no clones need to be purchased in the future? Any advise given will depend on these type of questions.

With eight plants, I'm assuming all female, you have the ability to ensure a solid future if approached correctly. They should start a vegitative cycle immedeatly. 24 hrs light, flouros will work if they're still small. A larger wattage Metal Halide is advisable for vigorous veg. growth as plants develope. Water when they dry out, a finger dry to the knuckle in soil is a good general test to see if they need water. Hydro could get a little more complicated so I'd begin with soil as a beginner but some would disagree. As things progress so will you.

i would say if your cuttings have roots showing then yes they can go into hydro
but my question is which hydro have you decided to use

If you a trying to learn how to grow I would start with soil, so you don't have to learn how to grow and how to maintain a hydro system at the same time. Once you learn how to grow then you can setup your hydro system and get it stable. You will want to keep your mother in soil.

Hi again,

Ok so ive decided to go down the soil route, with a perlite mix, the next step is to go choose some lighting, ive got £250, $350 to spend, bearing in mind im going for 8 girls should i be looking at 1000w hid ?? or would flouro be a option aswell? my room size 16' x16' so plently of space,

Ill probally be able to down size easier if needed too.
Do you all recommend going 24\0 over the 16\8 route and if so i it because of yield or growth?

Again im very grateful for all the help guys.

Soil is a good idea, for £250, for 8 plants i would use 2 x 600 watt HPS lamps with cool shades (air cooled) you will also need some way of extracting air with a carbon filtter, you dont need any unwanted smells, perhaps a small osilating fan, plus feed and some tool to measure the strength of your nutes plus it weould be good to measure your ph levels of your feed. If i ahd 16 x 16 space i would grow a lot more thatr 8, but thats up to you, there is plenty of information on this site I hope I have helped any questions fire away.

The post had only been up 40 minutes.

This site is global.

Just because you are awake does not mean everyone in the world is awake sitting waiting for posts on a forum just so they can answer as quickly as possible.

If that is your limit to your patience, then you have a problem before you even start.

This does not happen, I see you have a lot to learn as how this forum works.

Hello Flowers.mike :)

You will only want something like this (It will cover up to 18sqf)

hXXp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Complete-600w-Compact-hps-Grow-Light-System-Hydroponics_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem5d24ef5e79QQitemZ400051625593QQptZUKQ5fHomeGardenQ5fGardenQ5fPlantsSeedsBulbsQ5fJNQQsalenotsupported

Change the XX at the start to TT

You will also need specialist plant foods, I use this company.

hXXp://www.growell.co.uk/p/0702/Bio-Bizz-Nutrients.html

PH meter.

hXXp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digital-Hand-Held-pH-Meter-Pool-Water-Wine-Tester-Tool_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a3Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem3ef6589772QQitemZ270420973426QQptZUKQ5fHomeGardenQ5fGardenQ5fPlantsSeedsBulbsQ5fJNQQsalenotsupported

Un nutriented potting soil (Not the stuff that says will feed for a month or 2 months etc).

You will need air circulation, fresh air in, stale air out.

Smell will become a problem when the plants get bigger, at first you can get away with just the fans.

:peace:

Massive thanks Hippy!! Them nute's contacts will be really useful, Im on the case now, Ill keep ya posted with the grow.

Cheers again.
