I mentioned this in other threads but I wanted to start this one so anyone who'd ever had pet rats could see my beautiful girl.

She died on saturday at a mere age of around 21 months with no prior sign of illness. It was very sad as it was so unexpected.

She was such a cutie, part dumbo with her big ears, everyone who met this rat loved her, she was a favourite for lots of people. She will be missed by her friend as well as many humans.

Just a few cute pics of her from over the last year.

Rest in peace my angel, Luna xxx

It's always tough to lose a pet. My dog is more like a part of the family then a pet. I prefer his company compared to most of the people I know. Sorry for your loss.

Morning Thorn :)

Sorry to hear of your bad news.

Some interesting facts ...

Beautiful rat you had there. It's a shame to see it go. Have you thought about getting another one?

I am so sorry Thorn. It is so sad to lose a pet. What a beautiful animal she was.

Thorn, I am so sorry. I know how much you love your rats. Here's a little poem that always makes me feel better when I lose one of mine. **hugs**

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry to hear about that Thorn, losing a pet is tough. I'd offer out a hug, but smokinmom beat me to it. Plus who wants a hug from a lama.

wow thanks everyone for you lovely words, it means a lot to me :)

TerrorAP I won't be getting anymore just yet as it would be fair on the girl I have left. I think she's a bit too old to get a new friend now. I've included a picture of them both together play fighting and one of my Chino on her own.

I do want to get 2 or 3 male rats at some point in the future, but I'm not even going to look into that until my life is a bit more stable with a new place to live and hopefully a decent job
