Florida lawmakers want to limit how high you can get when smoking medical marijuana
Some Florida lawmakers want to regulate how strong your high will be from smoking medical pot.

SOUTHWEST Fla. - Governor Ron DeSantis already said yes to a bill that would allow patients to light up their medical marijuana earlier this month.
Now some Florida lawmakers want to change how strong your high will be.
There’s a proposal being considered by the House that would cap THC levels in medical marijuana at 10 percent.
A local Southwest Florida state representative Ray Rodrigues is pushing for this proposal.
The levels of THC in weed can be thought of like the proof of an alcoholic beverage. For instance, there is a difference in the amount of alcohol in a beer versus alcohol in vodka; vodka is more potent.
For some, what worries them is the negative effects a proposal like this can have on pricing.
If the THC is potent enough, many will resort to buying more for relieving their ailments.
It hasn’t yet been decided on whether the cap would only be on smokeable pot or other medical products.
Many don’t want the fate of their high in the hands of lawmakers.
The proposal has not yet been filed. There is no word yet if or when it will go before legislators.
We reached out to State Rep. Ray Rodrigues and did not hear back.
