nervous to buy setup from local hydro shop.?

hydro shops are just like head shops. How many people do you know that buy a bong at the local headshop and use it for tobacco only? They have as much to lose as you do, it's their livelihood. I would use CASH though. Its the best way. If it's anything like the hydro shops I have been to, they probably grow themselves, just don't bring up anything illegal while you are there.

Out of curiosity, what did the guy say when you made the "sleep better" comment? If he agreed with you, then yes, he knows exactly what you are doing, but doesnt know where you live, doesn't know your name, and doesn't care. He just wants to sell you a system and make a little money.

Well, as far as the sleep comment goes, CO2 actually does help you sleep. Maybe the seller was actually just talking about being worry free, but just as oxygen helps you to stay awake (which is why they pump it into the casinos in Vegas, so everybody will stay up gambling), carbon dioxide helps you fall asleep. A professor once told me if you're having trouble falling asleep, put the blanket over your head, because you will breathe in more CO2 and fall asleep faster.

Pay cash and have fun. Do you realize how many people actually buy the lights and setup and do not grow marijuana? People vent back into their homes to warm a bedroom instead of wasting electricity or heating oil, the carbon filter is to keep the air clean smelling. You are nervous because you know what you are using the setup for. Relax and have fun, be safe and don't tell anyone.

Has happened before though...... I can't remember the specifics but the cops were leaning on him for info and he started informing.... word got out about it and he was out of business pretty quick....... There is a thread about it here on the forums somewhere.

i remember that post slightly. i believe it was Chalmette Louisiana. shop owner was setting up his customers', to get his own butt out of trouble.
selling clones then tipping off feds. maybe Bayou La Battery.

after asking around I heard of a couple hydrostore-linked-busts...1) guy buys 10,000 dollars of equip at same time,pays cash-store by law declared the big cash transaction-investigation came next...2) (this sounds like a possible rumor) feds open hydrostore to get info on growers.
personally, i never trust a hydrostore there arent a couple stoners working in...and I will usually go to the store a few times and ask a couple dumb questions just to feel them out before I buy anything, but part of that is I dont like giving my money to jerks!

I am sure it has happened. However, I am pretty sure its a rare circumstance. People should be careful and pay with cash anyway, but lets not get all paranoid and crazy.

I don't know I buy from my hydro shop card or cash. It would be illegal for cops to use purchasing of hydro/indoor growing supplies to get a warrent. In the previous post it said the hydro store was selling customers clones to get himself off the hook. Now I can see that. Leo can't really come harrass you for purchasing indoor grow equipment.

As lyfr said. I ask my hydro shop guy all kinds of questions. I have never said marijuana but he knows and gives me the exact advice I need. Questions like do I have to worry about burn in late flower with Cha Ching from fox farm. What kind of pocket scopes you got? He precedes to sale me the best one for looking at trichromes for resin production in plants.

I would say you have the least worries in a hydro shop unless he tries to sell you some plants or do something shady.

Getting worried about buying products? Wow!! If you are that insecure and nervous about buying some lights and a carbon filter from a hydro shop I would stop right there and reconsider GROWING MARIJUANA. Growing is illegal, it is a risk, but it is also very very enjoyable. You can't be paranoid about it or you'll drive yourself insane.
These hydro shops are in business to make money. They want you to buy their lights and filters, because that is how they put food on their plates at night. Hell, the owner of the shop I go to is a stoner if I've ever seen one. I'm sure he has a grow going too. He is very knowledgable about growing "plants" and always has some tip for me or an organic tea for me to try out. What I'm getting at is that they don't care. If they turned in their customers they wouldn't have anybody to sell their products too. Take a chillpill, pay with cash if you feel safer that way, and grow away. .

Oh, and whoever mentioned being nervous about someone asking "what do you need the nutes for" or other nosy questions. If this happens tell them to kick rocks and leave. What are they gonna do? Get your license plate number when you leave and call the cops and tell em "He wouldn't tell me what he need the nutes for and he looked like a stoner." I assume the cops would tell the person to kick rocks too. People are WAY to paranoid over little things.

All the people losing sleep, I think they should go and do something different. They are always worried about ordering seeds, buying stuff at the hydro shop, the electric bill being too much, the helicopter flying over, etc. etc.

I can't imagine how nervous they get by the time they have a plant growing, a cop would stop by to ask if the neighbor was home and they'd be so nervous about being caght they would go ahead and tell them everything without even being asked or suspicious of it.

If you are nervous, find another hobby, your health will thank you.

I am almost positive that the owner of the shop I frequent is burnt most of the time. Whenever I pick something up he always has glazed eyes and a smirk on his face. He asks me how the veggie garden is doing; we were talking about planting garlic this year, he loves it as much as me so I will drop some off to him next year. Face it, if you are going to grow marijuana you run the risk of getting caught. Being paranoid about everything around you will make you look suspicious and make your chance of getting caught even greater. The shop I go too has kids coming in who are OBVIOUSLY growing pot LOL and little old lady's getting nutes for their flowers; or maybe their glaucoma Keep your numbers down because if you do get caught it will be a hell of alot better to be busted with 2 plants in stead of 30. If you are man (or woman) enough to play the game you had better be equally ready to accept the punishment. Godspeed out!!
