Okay, I live pretty far north so the range of insect pests is likely far less than that of Vancouver or similar latitude (or further south). Anyways I have these tiny little black flies in my closet growspace. They look like fruitflies i guess? Anyways they seem harmless, and are most abundant in the soil (I grow in a pot, plant seems to be doing great). They seem to like to sit on the underside of the leaves as well. Are these thirps or whiteflies or something else? I have sticky tape and a fan battling them a bit, but they are annoying! Are they harmless to the plant?

hit the seach feature with "fungus gnats"..
adults are not harmfull, but the larva in the soil eat your roots, and ARE harmful.
