Do light cycles need to be exactly 24 hours?

Just wondering because all the ratios i've seen have been like 12/12, 18/6 etc due to there being 24 hours in a day.

Can you have 12 hours of light and 14 hours in darkness?
Or does the 24 hour cycle have the best potential for yeild?

I don't grow myself but just wondering, as i'd like to in the future.

lol,.....jk malevolence.....i know what you mean but i'm pretty sure MJ has adapted to a 24hr day by now,but who knows , i may try it some time

What a bunch of asses

18 hours of light a day for vegetative growth, we put them under 12 hours when they are big and mature enough to flower.
