My guess is that it has something to do with the strain. The genetics of the plant probably determine something like that. Do you have a picture we could look at?
Sounds good man. do you have a grow journal? If not consider posting one if your not too busy. Its always fun watching other people grow and seeing any new strains/techniques that come out of it
Hash I have ordered over 5 strains of seeds that came in three different packages. all of them made it to me no problems. sometimes it takes a little while to get here considering it comes from Europe but i wouldn't worry. Believe me home grown bud is definitely worth it

Devious just to add my two cents. Always water in your plant in after it is transplanted. This will stop shock and it will help the roots recover from any stress. Also if the plant is root bound gently loosed up the roots. Personally, at the garden center we never remove soil from the roots...
Hey if you are growing outside I would use the coffee grounds as a mulch. That way the nitrogen will leach down into the soil with each watering and even a little bit with the morning dew. Also mulch will help keep weed seeds from germinating and will also keep the temperature and moisture...
If you go to a local garden center they should have several products to decrease pH. you can use Miracid but i prefer Aluminum sulfate. these are just two of the products out there.
Personally I would wait at least another week before transplanting them into larger pots... It kinda depends on the size of the pot they are currently in. And as for me I always keep them in seperate pots. That way if there is a problem with one I can always move it without disturbing the root...
