This is the 1st i've heard of using a contactor relay. But that makes alot of sense. Btw, would u still need to run one if you're using a digital ballast? I believe they use a "soft start" technology that doesn't spike the power, to prolong ballast and bulb life.

Normally i would agree with this if they were gonna be vegged for awhile. But since i'm putting them into flower right from rooting, the root system wont have time to get big like a 4-6wk vegged girl, right? Just a thought.

I'm doing it to take advantage of all the height in my growroom, since its kinda limited. I can grow 5-7 monsters to the ceiling, instead of 4-6 3' tall ones. ;)

Also, since i'm gonna be only having my 3 big plants, i want to use as many of the clones as possible. Since i'll be putting the clones directly into flower, in 5gal dwc's, do u think i should only put 1 clone per bucket, or would 2 work, without compromising yield?

Well, u just went from bout 10,000 lumens/sq ft down to bout 400 lumens total. The plants probably think its damn near night time. ;) U need alot more lighting than that, especially if u want anywhere near the same amount of growth.
