I see them on top of perlite more so not so much around drain holes but i know there around. could the perlite have been the host, iv'e been using this soil for 4-5 weeks and saw nothing then i bought this bag of perlite bout 2 weeks ago. now i c them every were.

Any digital ph meter is going to serve you better than one you check by color . just make sure you get one that is waterproof. IMO get one in your price range. you get what you pay for!!!
