I made a drip irrigation system using a rubbermade container. Does it matter how much water I have in the reservior?

I guess it would be..
Enough to cover the pump + As often as youre willing to change it. So if youre plants are using 1gal of water a day, 5 would last you enough till you had to mix up new solution again. You can top off as well.
Id check ph/ppm everyday as well, and adjust accordingly.
