My flowering room is going to be 7'-8" wide by 9'-6" long and I have 2 1000 watt hps to work with. How should I position the lights? Side by side squared off or run both right down the middle? plants will be in soil and on wheeled raised beds. With yield in mind how many plants ya think for this setup? any thoughts? thx all

run the lights long-wise down the room ..as far as # of plants goes,.. itdepends on how big you want them to get..i'd say you could get 6-8 big ones in there

There is really no good way to position them--there is really no light that is going to be good for 7'8". You would be far better off with 4 600W to cover the area you want to.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, 4 600's would work pretty well in that area.maybe when I upgrade I can get 2 600's and stagger the two 1000's with two 600's....? or go with 2 more 1000's.....overkill?

Your square footage is 72.8. Quick ref X 50 watt/sqft=3641.7 watts. Not bad overkill with (4) 1000watters. Some would say you'd be about right. But I keep reading that the 600w are more efficient than other wattages are.

I run (2) 600w in 4.5 x 8.3 and do well. I've done ten plants but that was about 2 too many in my space. I'd like to think you could get 12 in there without to much shoving.

Luck and peace.

What do you guys think about maybe installing light movers to use the extra room?I'm just kicking around idea's.I've been planning and reading books, surfing the net for the last 2 months.I fall asleep with Jorge Cervantes bible almost nightly:D. thx all
