Wanting to run a 400W HPS. I need a ballast and socket. I Have a outdoor security light, that will plug into a 110v outlet. One like you would buy to put around a dock or barn. It will hold a HPS. Will this work for a closet or small indoor grow? Like 4-6 plant grow.

Most those security lights are only 70 Watt. It will still work to grow a plant with though.

ya it will will for one or two, get a 400watt for a boost.

your bulb HAS to match your ballast wattage ie a 400 watt ballast for a 400 watt bulb. You can NOT substitute..
