I have my 400w mh light about a foot and a half away from the plants, their doing good but they havent gotten much taller.
I was wondering since I know having the light too far could stretch your plants, can having them too close do the opposite?

Having them "too close" means they're being damaged by excess heat.

The closer the light is to the plant (without heat damage), the better.

You'll have shorter plants, but the nodes will be spaced tighter, and they grow faster.

Growing tall usually isn't ideal. I want my plants to grow dense. Once they fill the grow space with canopy, I put them into flower.

Best start with lamp high get them used to the light and move it down as the grow goes I thin I get about 30cm at end from tops.........Vetelation is the key ;)

I think the Agro bulbs are kick *** for the whole grow ;)

Peace
