MH and HPS lights

Do i need a ballast for metal halide lights and HPS lights? I want a HPS for flowering and was just curious if i get one do i need to buy a ballast too

You will need a ballast. Some digital ballasts can run both types of bulbs, if you opt for a less expensive ballast you will need a conversion bulb.

Yes if using a HPS then you need a HPS ballast and the same for the MH you need a MH ballast. Or you can buy a conversion bulb that can run on either ballast...take care..
