I'm sure this info is somewhere on this site, but I cant seem to find it using the search feature. Sooooooo, does anyone know how long a pot plant will veg before it dies of old age?

I'm a novice grower but plan to keep a 'mother' plant to take clones from. If I NEVER flower this mother, how long will she stay in veg stage? Will she eventually flower spontaneously even if under 24/0?

I heard of people keeping mother plants alive for 10 years. ;)

Some strains cannot be held in veg. Example: Lowryder. It is an autoflowering strain. Ruderalis.
But typical indica and sativa strains can remain in veg. indefinetley. It is debatable that after a long period of time the plants potency will degrade, but I haven't found any hard evidence on the net. Besides it better be one hell of a mother to keep it for 10+ years.
