quick harvest question

I got some outdoor plants that are close to being ready for harvest, but i can only go see them at night due to their location. My question is would it be a bad idea to pick off a leaf or two so i could bring it into the light and put it under the magnifying glass? This is probably the only way that i will be able to examine trichomes efficiently.

this would probably get better attention in the outdoor growing questions... maybe one of the mods can move it later, double posting is not a good thing for the server..

what i do is i look at the smallest growing bud i can find and pick parts of it at a time, dont know if that is the best way under your situation, but definitley not the most accurate..
