trimming fan leaves

i'm into about the fifth week of flowering. Should i trim the larger fan leaves to allow light into the smaller leaves on the main cola?

no, not a good idea, your fan leaves generate all of the energy for your plant to continue budding. While bud leaves can absorb light, photosynthesis is not as efficiently because the Trichomes filter the light for their use

The only thing i cut off once in flowering is leafs that turn yellow or start to die off.

It is not a good idea to cut fan leaves ever, but IMO, it is especially bad to do anything that could stress your girl once she is into flowering. I don't even cut off the yellow leaves, but wait for them to fall off.

Thanks hemp goddess i didnt know to just let them fall off I thought it would harm the plant if left on. I will no longer cut at all!!
