i mounted one of these vortex powerfans on my wall (6" 449 cfm) with the metal brackets it came with and noticed it caused very noticeable vibration in the next room. all i did was place my hand on the wall and i could feel it on the other side. this is a huge problem for me since no one in this house but me can know about my little Op.

my question is, how can i reduce the vibration/noise (vibration causes noise?) of this fan? and is there a way to do it with the use of the brackets?

Rubber grommets (search around for 'car body mounts').
Bungee cords (the strong rubber kind used by truckers).
Styrofoam.

Can you hear the fan noise too? If not, you're halfway there. Vibration can be fixed.

wow you spent top dollar for those make sure tell us how it works ;)

I just noticed if I keep the controller dialed above 50 the humming sound almost goes away. Once I add a carbon filter or a duct muffler maybe the noise from the air being pushed out will go away?

i have the 4in. vortex fans 2 of them. they do make some noise but they work so good it's worth it imo.
