Hey, jdmnismo300, yes, that kit is more than you'd spend if you bought each part, but it'll give you a good start into DWC.

Learning to germinate, manage nutrients properly and recognize the various stages of your plant growth is something else you need to complete your grow.

I would probably just buy my own equipment and hook it all up myself. That would be much cheaper and you can customize it however you see fit and according to your grow area. Just my thoughts. There is a great dwc thread in the DIY forums that you should take a look at. Just my thoughts. Take care and be safe.
