I thought it would be fun to look at the difference between different propagation mediums/techniques.

These are all the same age.
They were all cut at the same time.
The blue one only has one example of roots. The rest are two from each type.

Pick which color goes to which method.

Ozzy-
Thanks for guessing. I'm going to hold off on the answer to let others chime in if that is OK with you. Let me know if you want me to PM you the answer now- k?

Rosebud-
Sorry - that certainly wasn't my intention. I simply was quite surprised by the results - and you know I like to put those males to good use.

Who else wants to play?

what about the Bubble cloner???

I don't have one - so I didn't test that.
I do like the cups - easy since I didn't have a dome. And I can reuse most of the medium a few times.
But my DIY cloner on the cheap worked AWESOME.
Takes up less space too. That will be my go to for the next round- and into the coir pucks.

Wasn't trying to prove anything. And I wouldn't use soil again unless it was my only option. Harder to transplant- or I would have needed to leave them longer next time. Simply thought it was interesting.
Here is how they look today

Yep, your system works better w/ soil -- how old are they in the pics?

interesting post :)

They are 28 days old from transplant in this picture.
Soil was not the winner IMHO.

In the first pic --how long had they been rooting?
